iPad: Pre-setup Steps
Go through the
standard iPad setup
process using your existing Apple ID or
creating a new one
.
Ensure the iPad has been updated to the latest software version.
Ensure the iPad is connected to a strong WiFi signal, preferably the one where the iPad will be installed.
Make sure the Bluetooth setting is on.
Make sure location services are on.
Stripe Reader: Pre-setup Steps
Fully Charge the Stripe Reader.
Ensure you only have one reader near the iPad you are trying to set up to avoid cross-connections between Stripe readers.
Note down the last 5 digits of the Stripe Readers serial number.
Goodbricks APP SETUP STEPS
Download the 'Goodbricks Terminal' app from the App Store. (

)
Start the App.
When asked to enter Organization ID: ‘yourorganizationid*'.
*Your organization ID will be sent to you by Goodbricks admin, please enter that id in all lowercase and with no spaces.
Enter last 5 digits of the Stripe readers serial number.
Give “always while using the app” access.
Pairing Stripe Reader with the Goodbricks App
Turn the Stripe Reader
ON
by pressing the button on the side. The reader should beep and lights should blink.
Bring the Stripe Reader next to the iPad.
Click on the ‘
Discover reader
’ button on the App.
Display on the iPad should alternate between 'reader connecting' and 'reader not connected’.
INITIAL
pairing of the reader can take 5 minutes to 20 minutes; the reader may emit a beeping sound intermittently when going through the pairing.
Recommended Settings for On-Site Terminals - Post Setup
Accessibility settings
Setup guided access mode
Password for guided access mode - 925925 (You can choose any password, make sure to write it down somewhere)
Display
Set Auto-lock to never
Troubleshooting
Make sure the iPad has a
STRONG
WiFi connection.
Make sure the Bluetooth setting is ‘
ON
’ on the iPad.
Make sure location services are turned ‘ON’ on the iPad.
The stripe reader is
FULLY
charged and lights blink when you press the button on the reader.
If all the above steps have been done and it still does not work:
Uninstall the Goobricks App.
Forget the Blue tooth device from iOS settings.
Reset the Stripe Reader, by using a pin and holding it down for 8-10 seconds.
Go back and retry the steps.
